Either …Or.

Either an artist who struggles with words,

Or a writer who struggles with art,

Or just plain retarded.

Monday Rambles – Beat the Emotional Funk with I.W.R

So its time for my Monday rambles..I missed rambling monday last week not because I did’nt have anything to write about, but more because I was in what you’d  call an ‘Emotional Funk’.

Well, you know times when you just feel disconnected and listless and when nothing excites and motivates you to get out of your Pajamas and you end up looking like a mop. I used to think of it as a spell of ‘Chronic Laziness’ but now I understand its just a phase where you lose your ‘Passion’ for that Special V.V.I.P – You!

I decided I had to beat the ‘E. F’ with the ‘I.W.R’ and fall in love with myself once more..

I for IDENTIFY The first step to solving virtually every problem on the planet and specially in this particular situation is to – IDENTIFY that you are in an emotional funk and not always being influenced by hormones or any paranormal power that is from universes far away controlling your brain.

W for WORK The second step is to WORK your way out of it. I know I used the dreaded four letter word but I’m in no mood to sugar coat this Monday morning. Yes guys, life is all about work – making an effort and having fun as much as you can while doing it.

You work at your job, your home, on your relationships..sometimes you forget or shall I say, neglect  working on yourself.

So I made the effort to declutter my house, vacuum, throw the trash and finally light some scented candles and run a nice warm bath…An hour of deep pore exfoliating and trust me, I could feel a burden lift off my forehead.

R for REVITALISE  After I and W you are already feeling a lot better. Next,  you engage in activities outdoors like going for a walk in the park or simply around your neighborhood or the gym or, you stay indoors- writing or painting or just creating something and you feel joy and contentment once again in life.. Ah! Alls well.

I had fun making some matching bracelets for Em and me..Lets spread the happiness.. 🙂

I hope you guys have a great week!

Monday blues….

Its Monday morning..Here I am thinking that I would never have to deal with ‘Monday Blues’ once I quit working, obviously it was to be just another one of my deluded thoughts…Also the term Monday Blues has its origins in the sad themes of the blues music, but aren’t there more sad and forlorn colors than blue like buff or grey or even the dirty variety of off white? Just a thought…

Mondays are still one of the most laziest days of the week…This is the day of the week that after Ive packed my husband off to work In the morning, I lie in bed and – Set my new weight loss goals and resolve to watch what I eat, Vow to become a better mother to my 2 year old, Chart out my husbands lunch menu for the week, Promise myself that I will finish reading a book and finally, complete a craft project..So as you see I have a full plate but how much of this I will actually finish off complete well, Friday evening time alone will tell…

Talking about projects here is an unfinished crochet project Id started last week..hope to be able to finish it by the weekend and put up the pic here (way to push myself to finish ;))….Its a bag by the way..

Materials needed:

Empty Cereal Boxes: 2

Pair of scissors

Glue gun

Glue Sticks

Spray paint

Small Mirrors (Available at Michaels or any craft store or Amazon)

Steps:

1. Cut out strips of equal width (mine were 2 inches wide) and height (same as the cereal box)  from your cereal box.

2. Fold each strip right at the middle and using your glue gun stick the open ends and lightly push the edges inwards once dry to form a petal shape

3. Place the cereal box petals in the formation you would like and then using the glue gun stick them together (be careful not to burn yourself with the glue gun at this stage while sticking the petals to each other)

4. Once the glue has dried, its time to spray paint!..place your flower outside on your yard or in a well ventilated space on top of newspapers and spray spray away..make sure your nose is covered so that you dont inhale the fumes and that you spray paint all the nooks and crannies of the flower formation. Incase you miss a spot, no worries, you can always  go back and ‘touch up’ the spots you missed. Leave it to dry.

5. After you are satisfied with the paint bring it inside and with the help of the glue gun, stick the mirrors onto the flower and Voila! your wall hanging is ready!
